Apostolos Papavasiliou returns to PAOK, after two years at Panathinaikos, to take charge of PAOK B.
A graduate of the TEFAA of AUTH, where he studied with a scholarship, specializing in football of course, but also in muscle strengthening and nutrition, and the holder of a UEFA A Licence, as well as UEFA Youth Elite Licence, Papavasileiou is one of those coaches who follow consistently all the steps to a successful career in what they love.
He has been working at PAOK since 2013, starting from a young age. He worked with Dimitris Taxidis, the coaches of the generation of 2004, which they coached at Under-15 level in the 2018-19 season and as Under-17 (2019-20), winning the respective age category league titles of the Super League. He was an associate of Pablo Garcia at Under-19 level, as well as of Stelios Malezas again at Under-19 level. For four years, he worked at the Iraklis academies up to the Under-17 age category, while he has also coached senior mens teams.
He had to stop playing football due to a serious injury at the age of just 15. He did try to continue playing – even though it took a whole year before he could walk again, playing in the third tier with Kassandra Halkidiki. But eventually, he decided to devote himself to coaching.
He speaks English, Italian and Spanish.
