The June internationals

This June is the summer “window” of internationals, which concerns both official games for the World Cup qualifiers and friendly matches. And of course, there are a few PAOK players who will be on duty.

Dimitris Pelkas and Giannis Konstantelias are included in Ivan Jovanovic’s selections for Greece’s two friendly games in Crete, in view of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. On 07.06 (21:45) the Greeks will face Slovakia and on 10.06 (21:45) they will take on Bulgaria.

Serbs and Croats are already on the road to qualification. Andrija Zivkovic’s Serbia start with the away match in Albania (07.06, 21:45) and then welcome Andorra on 10.06 (21:45). Dominik Kotarski is now a regular in the Croatian national team, this time for the first two qualifiers, against Gibraltar (away at 06.06) and the Czech Republic (home at 09.06).

Mateusz Wieteśka was called up to the Polish national team for the friendly against Moldova (06.06) and the official World Cup qualifier against Finland (away on  10.06). The Poles have started well so far in their group with victories over Lithuania and Malta.

There are World Cup qualifiers for Sergio Peña and in fact the last chance for Peru to qualify for the World Cup. The Peruvian national team plays away against Colombia on 06.06 and at home against Ecuador on 10.06.

The Georgian national team has also called up the team’s new goalkeeper, Luka Gugesashvili, who will strengthen his country’s team in the friendly matches against the Faroe Islands (05.06 19:00) and Cape Verde (08.06 19:00).

Five PAOK players in Greek youth side

The head coach of the Greek youth team, Giannis Taussianis, has called up five PAOK players for the friendly match against Serbia, which will take place on 04.06 (19:00) in the city of Loznica, as part of the preparation for the Under-21 2027 qualifiers, which will begin in September. Those called up are teh following: Marios Sinaia, Lambros Smyrlis, Viktor Rumiantsev, Dimitris Hatsides and Konstantinos Polykratis (the last two are from the generation born in 2006).
